RICHARD HATCHER has been a lead Gifted teacher with Atlanta Public Schools for over 25 years. He is also a STEAM Certified educator with 10+ years of FLL Robotics and Drone coaching experience. He most recently was an instructor at the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) at Emory University, while also being involved in creating curriculum for The Illuminarium in Atlanta, GA. His skills, inside and outside the classroom, have taken him to work on diverse educational projects such as Xanadu Summer Programs, Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), the Summer Institute of Astrophysics in the Canary Islands and the Lincoln Center’s Summer Art’s Education Program in NYC. Richard is intuitively a maker, which compliments his interests in Education, Building and Geo-Science.
KARINA HATCHER is a multi-disciplinary artist and Expressive Arts Consultant/Educator with a background in Visual Arts, Film, Creative Writing and Mindful Photography. Karina divides her time teaching for organizations like Emory Veterans Program and the Carlos Museum, and as Southeast Coordinator for IEATA (International Expressive Arts Therapy Association). Other times, you can find her creating at her art studio at Urban Art Collective, in Chamblee. Karina holds a Masters in Trans-disciplinary Art Therapy, and a Masters in Spanish and Hispanic Literature from the University of Barcelona. Passionate about martial arts, she is a certified Qigong and Nia White Belt instructor.
